Karbowiak assumes new Bridgestone Americas post

Nashville, Tennessee --Bridgestone Americas Inc. has named Christine Karbowiak to the newly created position of chief administrative officer.
Karbowiak has been serving as executive vice president, community and corporate relations and member of the board of directors of Bridgestone Americas. She assumes the new post on April 1.
Besides her current community and corporate relations responsibilities, which includes government, media and community relations, internal communications and overall brand oversight for firm's family of companies, Karbowiak also will be in charge of the company's environmental affairs, internal audit, safety and industrial hygiene, and corporate security functions.
Karbowiak joined the company's retail operations as senior counsel in 1992. She later served as assistant general counsel, division general counsel for corporate and international operations, and vice president of public affairs.
She became the first woman to serve as a director of a major Bridgestone Corp. company in 2009, and also was named executive vice president of community and corporate relations.
Karbowiak also serves on the board of Bridgestone Brands L.L.C.
