ERJ staff report (RD)
Gurgaon, India -- Two more health clinics sponsored by an Apollo Tyres Ltd. charity and another foundation have opened in India.
A year after the creation of a partnership between the Apollo Tyres Foundation and Ambuja Cements Foundation, health care centers have been established in Nalagarh in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, and in Surat, located in the western Indian state of Gujarat. Apollo said the centers are strategically located in large transshipment hubs, frequented by more than 1500 commercial vehicles daily.
The health care clinics' mission is to generate awareness of HIV-AIDS and prevention of sexually transmitted infections among truckers and the local community.
