Contitech expands hose manufacture in US

Somersworth, New Hampshire -- Hose specialist ContiTech Thermopol is expanding its production area in Somersworth, USA. The company is constructing a further production building and doubling its production capacity on a 3600 m2 area. ContiTech is investing €3.7 million in the expansion, which will create 80 additional jobs. It currently has a workforce of 140 at its 8.1 acre (3.3-hectare) plant.
Up to now, the plant has manufactured silicone hoses for manufacturers of automobiles and heavy duty trucks, for the food and pharmaceutical industry, and for other industrial applications. In the future, extruded turbocharger hoses will be produced and SCR hose line systems for exhaust gas cleaning in diesel engines will be assembled here as well, to meet growing demand.
Production in the new facilities should get started by December.
