Goodyear wins LA Metro bus fleet contract

Akron, Ohio - The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has been awarded a five-year contract to supply tyres and tyre-related services to Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), the US's second largest transit bus fleet, which operates more than 100 million miles annually, a 17 Aug Goodyear statement said.
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates a fleet of approximately 2550 buses that include conventional and 60-foot Articulated buses. Combined with Metro Rail and other transportation, it has an annual ridership of over 447 million, and provides service to nearly 16 000 bus stops.
