Registration opens for US scrap tyre and recycling symposium

Little Rock, Arkansas -- Registration has opened for the fourth annual “From Scrap to Profit†symposium on the use of recycled rubber in plastics and rubber products.
The 1 and-a-half day symposium is scheduled for 3-4 Nov at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock.
The meeting will be held in conjunction with the US Environmental Protection Agency's Resource Conservation Challenge Scrap Tire Workgroup Meeting, according to a press release. Topics to be discussed at the symposium include:
• Potential opportunities in carbon markets;
• New specifications from the American Society for Testing and Materials for infill systems, playgrounds and mulch;
• Certification in the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) program and how that will benefit scrap tire products; and
• An update on research into the health and environmental effects of ground rubber.
Registration fees are $195 for state, federal and local government employees, $375 for all others. The fee includes all course materials, breakfast, lunch, refreshments and the networking reception. A block of rooms is available for attendees at the Peabody at $139 per night; call the hotel at 501-906-4000 by 1 Oct. and mention the “Scrap to Profit Conference†when reserving a room.
