Neoprene seals to be used at Spaceport America
ERJ staff report (RD)
North Baltimore, Ohio -- D.S. Brown's Delastic Preformed Pavement seals are being used to seal the pavement joints on Spaceport America's 10 000-ft. long runway and protect from premature deterioration, a 18 Aug statement from D.S. Brown said.
Based in New Mexico, Spaceport America will be the location where the Virgin Galactic's tourist space flights will first take off.
D.S. Brown is supplying over 300 000-ft. of the pavement seals, which are extruded from compounds of neoprene (polychloroprene), the statement said.
“Spaceport America is a unique project, but its high-performance concrete pavements need high-performance joint sealants,†said Kirk Feuerbach, president and ceo of D.S. Brown.
