Evonik raises silica prices

Essen, germany -- Evonik is to raise prices for precipitated and fumed silica products, special oxides, and matting agents worldwide by up to 8 percent. The increase wil take effect from 1 October.

An Evonik spokesman said the increase applies to, "all silica products including the precipitated silica Ultrasil for the tyre industry. It includes also the fumed silica Aerosil that is occasionally used in tyres, too."
