Evonik launches new speciality silica materials
ERJ staff report (DS)
Essen, Germany -- Evonik Industries has introduced two new speciality silica materials aimed at the silicone rubber industry.
The two materials Sipernat 288 and Sipernat 268 were specially developed for customers who manufacture highly transparent end products such as keyboards for mobile telephones, computers, remote controls, etc. Evonik said they are intended for use in high-temperature vulcanised silicone rubber, liquid silicone rubber, and two-component room-temperature vulcanised silicone rubber.
The company said the materials offer reduced yellowing and outstanding mechanical properties. Evonik said, "Both products can be processed quickly and dispersed easily, which reduces production times and lowers energy costs."
