UK tyre body selects Conti man as chair

London -- The British Tyre Manufacturers Association (BTMA) has elected David Smith as its new chairman with immediate effect. Smith has been managing director of Continental Tyres since 2007. He replaces former Goodyear managing director Mark Brickhill whose two year chairmanship ended in July.
