Russia to raise duties on used and retreaded tyres
ERJ staff report (DS)
Moscow -- A report on Sibur-Russian Tyres website says the Russian customs agencies are to increase duties on imports of used and retreaded tyres. This decision, officially issued by the Commission of the Customs Union, August 23, 2010, is due to enter into force on 23 Sept 2010.
Sibur Russian Tyres said, "The decision to raise tariffs was taken after a joint request of the JSC Sibur - Russian Tyres JSC and Nizhnekamskshina to the RF Government. This measure is aimed at reducing the importation of used and retreaded tyres whose use reduces traffic safety and cause significant damage to the environment."
The fee will be 20 percent of customs value but not less than 20 euros per unit.
