Bridgestone's Hirohide Hamashima talks F1

Tokyo -- Known around the world as Bridgestone's motorsport tyre expert, Director of Bridgestone Motorsport Tyre Development Hirohide Hamashima has been an employee of Bridgestone his entire working life. Bridgestone has published a long, detailed interview with him in two parts. The first part tracks the events leading up to Bridgestone's involvement in F1.

The second part deas with the 14 seasons of F1 experience. Hamashima said, "Our tyre simulation technology was established by Formula 1 and this assists us with the development of all our tyres. We also have very good technology for evaluating the surface of a circuit which is also very valuable for us. The compound technology we have learnt is applicable to low rolling resistance tyres. Our 14 years of study in F1 is now reflected in Bridgestone's standard production."
