Toyo to add 200 workers to Georgia tyre plant
ERJ staff report (TB)
White, Georgia -- Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing Inc. (TNA) plans to add 200 employees to the workforce at its passenger and light truck tyre plant in White in response to increased production and ongoing investments at the plant.
Opened in 2006, the plant is increasing capacity to 5.2 million units annually by 2011 as part of a $270 million investment over three to four years.
The 1.8-million-sq.-ft. non-union factory employs 600 workers. Toyo is seeking “multi-craft†maintenance technicians with programmable logic controller experience. Interested parties are asked to contact the Cartersville Department of Labor in Cartersville, Ga., for more information.
The state of Georgia named TNA its Manufacturer of the Year in 2009 in the large company category.
