Liberty Tire acquires High Tread International
ERJ staff report (R&PN)
Lockport, New York -- Tyre recycling giant Liberty Tire Recycling has acquired High Tread International Inc., a Lockport-based scrap tyre collector and maker of crumb rubber and rubber mulch, for an undisclosed amount.
Liberty Tire's purchase of High Tread complements previously acquired assets in the Buffalo area of new York State, according to a Liberty Tire press release. Also, Liberty Tire and High Tread are collaborating on the design and construction of a new facility in Brantford, Ontario, the release said.
When completed later this year, the 210,000-sq.-ft. Brantford plant will be a showcase operation, consolidating all of Liberty Tire's activities in Ontario and housing all the company's scrap tyre collection operations in the province, Liberty Tire said.
“The team at High Tread is well-known in the industry for manufacturing high-quality recycled rubber,†said Jeffrey Kendall, chairman and CEO of Liberty Tire, in the press release. “We're certain this acquisition will position Liberty Tire as the premier recycled rubber producer and service provider throughout Ontario and New York.â€
