HF, Gerlach, Pixargus to demonstrate rubber profile curing system
ERJ staff report (DS)
Alsdorf-Hamburg-Würselen, Germany -- RubberTec Alliance will hold its second Open House with “live production†from October 27 through November 3 in Nettetal - only a thirty-minute drive from the K-2010 fair ground in Düsseldorf.
RubberTec Alliance, an alliance between the companies Harburg Freudenberger-Maschinenbau, Gerlach Maschinenbau and Pixargus, will set up the complete process chain at its technology lab in Nettetal and demonstrate “live†the production of rubber profiles at production speeds of up to 40 m/min during the Open House event.
Each individual component of the line represents the current state of the art: the extruder, the curing line with shock heating device and optical shape and surface inspection systems. An outstanding feature of the line is that all modules are networked by one common process control system. Through this all-comprising, holistic approach to process control in vulcanisation lines, RubberTec Alliance has taken regular process control an important step further. The complete line tunes itself automatically. As a result it takes less time for the plant to reach the target dimensions after start of production. Another novelty is that optical profile measurement and surface inspection have become an integral part of the overall process control system.
The comprehensive, networked plant control system with an all-the-way-through flow of information collates the measured data of all the machines involved. It captures actual values as well as error and operating messages, controls the complete extrusion process and archives the measured data.
