Goodyear tyres standard fitment on 2011 Ford Explorer
Akron, Ohio - Ford Motor Co.will fit Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co's Fortera HL tyres as original equipment for its 2011 Explorer models, according to a 16 Oct. announcement from the tyre maker.
The standard tyre fitment for the Explorer SE model will be in a P245/65R17 size, the announcement added.
The most fuel-efficient version of this popular SUV would help deliver expected best-in-class fuel economy in highway driving, with both the 3.5 TiVCT V-6 and the new 2.0 I-4 EcoBoost engine, Goodyear continued, adding that the completely reinvented vehicle is expected in dealer showrooms this winter.
The Fortera HL is an award-winning tyre with other original equipment fitments. With an optimised tread pattern that features deep blades and grooves, the tyre provides a quiet ride and all-season traction for SUVs, Goodyear claims.
Goodyear tires are original equipment on many vehicles, the firm claims, saying that, traditionally, more new vehicles in North America are equipped with Goodyear tyres than any other brand.
