UK fleets can save on tyre repairs
Birmingham, England - UK car and fleet van customers could save money by visiting an ATS Euromaster fast-fit centre with a tyre-related issue, the firm claims. Nearly one in ten such customers drive away with a repaired tyre, rather than a bill for the cost of a new fitment, the firm explained in an 18 Oct press release.
A puncture repair typically costs a fleet customer just £8 ($12.60) - a 92 per cent saving over the average price of a premium-brand tyre (£96), ATS Euromaster says, claiming that the statistic highlights its unrivalled commitment to driving down running costs.
Peter Fairlie, the firm's group sales director, explains: "Wherever possible we always try to carry out a safe and professional repair if a customer drives onto our forecourt with a puncture or minor tyre damage. It might sound strange for one of the country's largest tyre retailers to say, but selling more tyres is not our primary goal. Our focus is on helping fleet managers to cut their running costs and carbon footprint by maximising the longevity of every tyre."
Across the three month period from June to August 2010, ATS Euromaster says it carried out 9334 tyre repairs on cars and vans belonging to its national fleet customers. Repairs represented 9 per cent of all tyre-related work undertaken (including routine replacements due to wear) - saving customers an estimated £821 392 through not fitting new rubber.
Fleets visiting one of ATS Euromaster's 377 centres can choose between prompt 'while-you-wait' repairs or drop off their punctured tyre and collect it later. Alternatively, car and van owners can pre-book an appointment for a mobile service van to attend their home or place of work. Van drivers also benefit from access to ATS Euromaster's 24/7 roadside rapid response service.
ATS Euromaster is part of the Euromaster Group, which operates in 12 European countries with over 11 500 employees in more than 1680 single-branded service centres.
Established in the UK since 1961, ATS Euromaster has 377 service centres (comprising a mixture of retail, comprehensive and truck sites), about 1000 mobile service vans and employs 2500 people, providing national coverage of the UK. It claims to be the largest comprehensive tyre distributor supplying tyres for everything from cars and vans to trucks, coaches, forklifts, agricultural tractors and even construction plant.
In 2010 ATS Euromaster became the first national tyre expert to be accredited by both SAFEContractor and the Contractors Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS). The company's technicians are amongst the most highly trained in the fast-fit industry, offering a comprehensive range of products and services including tyres, brakes, batteries, shock absorbers, oil, exhausts and MOT testing.
