Purcell Tire opens truck-tyre centre in Missouri

Potosi, Missouri - The Purcell Tire and Rubber Co.has opened a truck-tyre centre in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where it has operated a retail/commercial facility for over 25 years.

The expanded warehouse space allows Purcell Tire to offer additional sizes and types of tyres ranging from small to industrial to the largest off-the-road tyres made today, all from leading tyre manufacturers. The new unit will also offer tyre retreading (both truck and off-the-road.), allowing Purcell's commercial customers a cost-effective way to manage their fleet and protect the environment, the company said, in a 20 Oct press release.

“This expansion is a win-win for our company and our customers," the release continued. "This expansion will significantly increase our operations and purchasing power, providing our customers in Cape Girardeau with more products, more brands and more services,” it added.

The new 2500-m2 facility is in Jackson, a fast growing city just north of the Cape Girardeau metro area, which offers easy access off Interstate 55, as well as a five-acre circle drive, allowing easy entrance and exit for all trucks, the Purcell announcement said.

Purcell Tire will continue to operate both Cape Girardeau facilities while offering its customers an expanded list of quality products and services.

The expanded facility will also make several new services available. A computerised truck-alignment system has been installed. Powered by Hunter Engineering, this system allows proper alignment of large, commercial truck suspension systems. Proper alignment decreases tire wear, which extends the life of tires and suspension parts.

Further, Purcell Tire will now offer annual DOT (Department of Transportation) inspections, as well as an expanded menu of commercial and retail mechanical services, including large truck oil and fluid changes. The new facility will also provide 24-hour roadside tyre service to get customers back on the road quickly.
