DuPont announces nylon resin, TPE price increases
Geneva, Switzerland - DuPont Performance Polymers has announced price increases in Europe, Middle-East and Africa, for a wide range of its nylon resins and its speciality Hytrel thermoplastic polyester elastomers.
The increases will be effective 1 Dec 2010, or as contracts allow, the firm said in a 20 Oct statement, citing continued escalation of costs and growing tightness in the raw materials markets, as the prime factors causing the changes.
The specific increases are as follows:
* Rises of up to 0.25€/kg ($0.77/lb) for DuPont Zytel nylon resins, DuPontZytel HTN high-performance polyamides, DuPont Crastin PBT, DuPont Rynite PET and speciality nylons;
* Rises of up to 0.40€/kg ($1.23/lb) on all FR grades of the above products; and
* Rises of up to 0.15€/kg ($0.46/lb) on DuPont Hytrel TPC-ET.
