Yokohama to raise prices on US consumer tyres
Fullerton, California - Yokohama Tire Corp. is raising prices in the US on all consumer tyres, including passenger, performance and light truck models, by up to 8 percent, effective Dec. 1.
A 21 Oct announcement from Yokohama attributed the price hike to the rising cost of raw materials, manufacturing and transportation-related expenses. It said the company also will be making in-line adjustments, which it will announce later.
“We do our best to control our costs, but the escalating costs of raw materials, manufacturing and transportation must, unfortunately, be assimilated in our product pricing,†said Shawn Denlein, Yokohama director of sales, Consumer Products, in the company statement.
Yokohama's last price increase on consumer tyres was June 1.
