Cologne, Germany -- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Tyre machinery division is testing a new internal mixer aimed at the tyre industry with a partner customer.
The announcement, made at the Tire technology event in Cologne follows a statement earlier this year by India's Larsen and Toubro and Kobe machinery that they would jointly make rubber machinery, including mixers for sale to the European and Indian markets.
The mixer industry has been consolidating in recent years, as HF group acquired Farrel Corp and Pomini, leaving many EU tyre makers with limited choice of supplier for their mixers.
