Conti to add 10 percent output this year

Hannover -- Continental's passenger car tyre unit will produce about 124 million passenger and light truck tyres in 2011; ten percent more than in 2010. Conti said its factories are at full production and have started making cold-weather tyres, in anticipation of strong demand in Europe, later in the year.

Continental operates seven tyre plants in Europe alone. In Germany, the company produces around 20 million passenger and light truck tyres each year in the plants in Aachen (Nordrhein-Westfalen) and Korbach (Hessen).
