Safic buys distributor in Turkey

Paris -- Safic-Alcan SAS has acquired control of a plastics distribution company in Turkey. Safic intends to build on the unit to distribute rubber materials in the region.

Safic said the acquisition of the majority of shares in Interplast will enable it "to meet the expectations of our core suppliers in this market, we also have a strategic platform for the development of our own product portfolio especially in Rubber and Thermoplastics. The sustained growth that we have seen in this country will create many opportunities for us now and in the future.”

Safic has been seeking a distribution company in Turkey for many years said the company in a statement.
