TSRC, IOC, Marubeni to build 200kt SR plant in India - report

Taipei, Taiwan -- Taiwanese newspapers are reporting that TSRC Corp., Indian Oil Corp. and Japan's Marubeni Corp are prepareing to build a large synthetic rubber plant in India. None of the companies had responded to requests for clarification by presstime.
The reports said the three companies have signed a letter of intent to prepare a joint venture in which IOC owns 50 percent, TSRC owns 30 percent and Marubeni has the remaining 20 percent. The new company would set up a SR project to make up to 200 kt of rubber to serve the local tyre industry.
