IRCO looks back on 10 years of tri-partite agreement

Bangkok - Darmansyah Basyaruddin, CEO of the International Rubber Consortium Limited (IRCo), has been reflecting on the first ten years of the International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC).
In a short blog, he reminds readers that it was on 12 December 2001, in Bali-Indonesia, there was a Joint Ministerial Declaration of the three major natural rubber producing countries, namely Thailand-Indonesia-Malaysia to establish the ITRC.
He concludes, “Now, the ITRC and IRCo have been experiencing for almost 10 years in implementing missions of the national tripartite rubber countries, and if we may claim during this period some achievements of their main objectives have been met, at least in keeping and maintaining a stable and sustain long term price trend, and remunerative to the farmers.â€
