Boeing recognises Bridgestone as leading supplier

Seattle, Washington State -- Bridgestone Corporation has been recognised as Supplier of the Year in the Electrical/Hydraulic/Mechanical Standards category by the Boeing Company. Bridgestone was one of 16 companies honored May 18 for distinguished performance in working with Boeing. This is the second consecutive year that Bridgestone has received this prestigious honor.
Bridgestone currently supplies aircraft tyres for Boeing aircraft including Boeing 737-900ER, Boeing 747, Boeing 767 and Boeing 777. Additionally, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is scheduled to go into service with Bridgestone aircraft radial tyres.
Bridgestone was the only tyre supplier mentioned in the awards. In the citation, Boeing said, "As a partner on all Boeing programs, Bridgestone has received a 100 percent quality rating. The company manufactures new aircraft tyres at its Kurume Plant in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan and Tokyo. It operates aircraft tyre retreading plants at another site in Japan and in the United States, Belgium and Hong Kong. Over the years, Bridgestone has demonstrated an absolute commitment to on-time delivery and plays an active role in planning new development programs with Boeing. "
