Mesgo building new mixing centre in Italy
ERJ staff report (DS)
Gorlago, Italy -- Mesgo SpA, an Italy-based custom compounder, is opening a new two-mixer compounding centre in Italy. The new capacity will be on stream during 2012.
Giorgio Cabrini, Commercial Director at Mesgo told ERJ that the company is investing in capacity for organic rubber mixing. Mesgo, which specialises in Silicones and fluoro-elastomers, said it will almost double the capacity it has currently for compounds based on EPDM, acrylic and and other organic rubbers.
The facility will be on a greenfield site close to the existing plant in Gorlago. Building has already started on the 10 000 m2 site and the equipment has been ordered, said Cabrini. He said the unit will have two mixers -- one of 150 litres and another of 120 litres.
ERJ will report more extensively on the compounding business in our next issue.
