China's imports of rubber in May

Beijing -- In May 2011, China imported more natural rubber, but less synthetic rubber than in May 2010. The same trend is seen in the first five months.
China imported 123 000 tonnes of natural rubber in the month of May, up by 32.8 percent from the same month in 2010. In the first five months of 2011, China's NR imports were 766 kt, up by around 6 percent on the same period a year ago.
For synthetic rubber, China imported 122kt in May, a decrease of 9.5 percent from may 2010. For the first five months, SR imports were 625kt, down by 13.9 percent.
