CEO resigns from troubled Nairit rubber plant
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Yerevan, Armenia - Vardan Melkonian, ceo of Armenian synthetic rubber company Nairit Plant CJSC , has resigned, the company said in a 30 June statement on its website.
The decision was taken at a 27 June annual shareholders' meeting. Nairit's chief engineer Hovik Ahinyana will act as ceo for a three-month period.
The plant, which produces chloroprene rubber and latex, stopped production in March partly due to financial difficulties from increased global oil prices, according to local reports.
