Rapra developing e-learning tools for REACH
ERJ staff report (DS)
Shrewsbury, UK - A European collaborative project focusing on the REACH legislation is nearing completion. REACH - the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals, is the largest single piece of legislation aiming to improve safety in the use and application of chemicals, although it does apply to all industry sectors.
The “Polymer REACH†project is now 18 months into its 2-year programme, which will run until November 2011. The project is supported by funding of €0.5 million from the Leonardo “Lifelong Learning Programmeâ€, with a team of 7 European partners, led by Smithers Rapra, working with other partners from the UK, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Lithuania and Estonia.
Following these trials and final modifications, the completed version will become available from November 2011 via the project website. As well as this, an associated REACH Handbook will also become available at the same time, offering European polymer SMEs an additional supporting resource to help them manage their way through the REACH requirements.
