Impala owners sue GM over excessive tyre wear
ERJ staff report (DS)
Detroit, Michigan - A class action lawsuit has been issued against GM in Michigan, claiming that GM's Impala cars (model year 2007, 2008) suffer excessive tyre wear.
The suit was filed in the US District Court Eastern Michigan by Donna Trusky on behalf of herself and all others similarly situated.
Court documents show that Trusky claims, “The model year 2007 and 2008 Impalas were sold with common defective rear
spindle rods that caused and continue to cause wheel misalignment and premature
tyre wear.†and that GM knew about the defect, but failed to remedy it.
Klusky bought an Impala in February 2008, fitted with Goodyear tyres. The court documents says, “Within the first year
of ownership and within 6000 miles of travel, the Goodyear tyres were
unserviceable, as the tread had worn so quickly on the tyres that they had become
questionable to use any further.â€
