Stockholm - It is with great sadness that we learn about the sudden death of Torsten Johansson, Secretary General of the Scandinavian Tyre and Rim Organisation (STRO) at the age of 59. The news was brought to us by the UK-based Imported Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ITMA).

Torsten was hugely respected in the European tyre industry and had been working closely with ITMA over the last few months, playing an instrumental role in guiding the Association's membership of STRO which had only recently been approved.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Torsten and we would like to offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and colleagues,” said David Seward, president, ITMA. “Although our relationship with Torsten was still in its infancy, it was clear to see his expertise, passion and dedication towards the industry and his death will be a sad loss.”
