Gujarat Reclaim to build butyl reclamation plant in India

Perundurai, Tamil Nadu, India -- Gujarat Reclaim & Rubber Products Limited is to build a green-field a reclaimed rubber manufacturing facility at Perundurai near Erode in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The first phase of the project, valued at INR 480 million (US$ 11million), is due for completion early 2012.
The facility will include a manufacturing block producing butyl reclaimed rubber, a utility block and an infrastructure block comprising an administrative and storage facility as well as security office. A key task will include providing material handling solutions for specific sections of the facility which will help to increase the productivity of the plant. Total land area is 12 acres.
Mott MacDonald is to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the project. Manan Thakore, Mott MacDonald's project director said, “We are delighted to be appointed on this important project as there is a good potential for this industry in India. Used rubber tyres and tubes can be recycled resulting in less waste and less environmental degradation. Mott MacDonald has a wealth of experience in delivering industrial projects over four decades and we will use the expertise gained from previous projects to deliver this reclaimed rubber manufacturing facility.â€
