Sumitomo's Changshu plant produces 50 million tyres

Changshu, China -- Sumitomo Rubber Industries' subsidiary in China, Sumitomo Rubber (Changshu) Co., Ltd., produced ts i50 millionth tyre on 15 June this year. The plant makes 6000 tyres/day and has a site area of 320,000m2
The Chinese company was established in June 2002 to meet the growing needs of the Chinese market needs. It started production of automotive radial tyres in April 2004 and marked the accumulated production of 50 million tyres last month.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd, in Japan will further strengthen its supply setup to the Chinease market by operating the plant of Sumitomo Rubber (Hunan) Co. Ltd., 2nd tyre production facilities in China, in July 2012.
