US Consumer group tests UHP tyres, loves the Michelin
ERJ staff report (DS)
Washington DC -- The US group Consumer Reports has updated its test of ultra-high performance (UHP) tyres with five new tyres and ranked them according to performance. The new additions are two new summer UHP tyres: the Firestone Wide Oval Indy 500 and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport and three all-season UHP models: Cooper Zeon RS-3A, Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ A/S, and Yokohama Avid ENVigo
Consumer Reports is very positive about the Michelin SuperSport, saying, "In the summer UHP category, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport sets a new standard, out-performing the previous top-rated tyres. How did Michelin pull this off? Tenacious stopping and cornering grip, plus dry handling that puts the Pilot Super Sport in a league of its own with very responsive steering feel."
