UK ploughing championship set for October
ERJ staff report (DS)
Taunton, UK -- The 61st British National Ploughing Championships is to be held at East Combe, near Bishops Lydeard, Taunton, Somerset on Saturday & Sunday 8th & 9th October 2011.
Ken Chappell, Executive Director of the Society of Ploughmen, said recently, "We are delighted to be invited back to Somerset - this is the first time the event has been held in the South West since 1995. The enthusiasm and support we are getting from our main sponsors - Goodyear and Firestone - and from local people, organisations and the agricultural trade is very encouraging. It will add up to a ploughing spectacular and provide a great rural day out for all the family to remember".
Over 15,000 visitors are expected to attend the event from all parts of the country and the site will be sign posted from all major roads in the vicinity.
