ITR USA issues recall on Negotiator tyres

Washington, DC - ITR USA is recalling certain Shandong Yongtai Negotiator Commercial H/T tyres, sizes LT265/75R16 and LT235/85R16, produced from April 2009 to May 2011.

The US Department of Transportation said in a 20 July report that some of the subject tires experience blistering or bubbles on the tyre's sidewall. The tyres fail to conform to the requirements Of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."

This condition may result in a sudden loss of tyre pressure, increasing the risk of tyre failure and a crash. ITR USA is in the process of determining the remedy plan for this campaign, the statement said. The safety recall is expected to begin during July 2011.

Some 51 000 units are potentially affected by the recall.
