Conti-shod Touareg covers Pan-American highway in 11 days

Deadhorse, Alaska -- A team driving a Volkswagen Touareg fitted with Continental tyres has covered the entire 16,000-mile Pan-American Highway in a record time. The journey started in in Ushuaia, Argentina, on July 2, rolling into Deadhorse Alaska just 11 days, 17 hours and 22 minutes later.
In their 2011 Volkswagen Touareg TDI Clean Diesel SUV equipped with Continental Tire's SUV tyre, the dynamic CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology, the team traveled more than 16,000 miles non-stop on one set of tyres, through 14 countries and varying terrain and conditions, including snow, sand, rain, mud, off-road and highway.
