Kumho Petrochem, to build S-SBR, EPDM plants in Korea - report

Seoul, Korea -- Reports from Korea say that South Korea's Kumho Petrochemical and some of its subsidiaries are to build plants to make S-SBR and EPDM and other chemicals at a facility in Yeosu, Korea.
Analysts Platts said that Kumho Petrochem, announced a plan today (Wed 27 July) to invest KRW 880 000 million (euro 577 million) to build a 60 kt/year S-SBR plant and a 60 kt/year EPDM plant in Yeosu.
Other plants will include bisphenol-A and methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI). The company did not break out investments for each separate plant.
