Japanese car production down by 16.2 percent in June

Tokyo - JAMA, the Japanese car manufacturers Association said Japanese production of cars in June was 620,717 units, down by 16 percent compared with the same month in 2010. Production for the first half was 2,925,187 units, down by 30 percent on the same period of 2010.
Production of trucks was back to 2010 levels at 111,229 units, 78 units more than in June 2010. Production of buses reached 10,485 units, up 544 units or 5.5 percent on June 2010
For the fist half, production of trucks was 464,559 units, down 134,020 units or 22.4 percent while bus production reached 40,188 units, down 14,852 units or 27.0 percent
