Lanxess highlights role of rubber technicians
ERJ staff report (DS)
Leverkusen, Germany -- Professor Claus Wrana, head of Polymer Testing at Lanxess AG since 2008 said, “Today, we have a portfolio of around 100,000 rubber formulations that can be used for applications of potentially unparalleled diversity. We produce an average of 800 rubber blends a month and obtain a wealth of data on these.â€
The statement appeared in a short article on Lanxess' website referring to last year's 100'th anniversery of the invention of synthetic rubber.
Wrana noted that the testing systems in Lanxess laboratories in Qingdao and elsewhere are all linked electronically, so that technicians in Leverkusen can see results in real-time, as they emerge fromtest equipment located half way around the world.
