Fort Mill, South Carolina - Continental Tire has introduced its “most innovative†SUV, crossover and light truck tyre to date, the company said in a 3 Aug announcement.
The CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology is a premium all-season tyre, which was developed to deliver improved fuel economy and treadwear and reduce harmful CO2 emissions.
Continental said the tyre stops 34 feet (10.3 m) shorter than Pirelli, the leading competitor, in independent wet braking tests. And the company added that it was designed to deliver excellent wet traction in rainy and snowy conditions.
The company said the tyre also delivered excellent fuel economy.
“We're fully committed to building advanced tyres and improving the environment - reducing CO2 emissions, reducing our waste and researching new and innovative ways to advance tyre technology," said Bill Caldwell, vice president of sales and marketing, Continental Tire.
