CTS introduces oyster shells as sustainable filler to replace chalk

Cholet, France - CTS compounds is using powdered oyster shells as a filler in some of its thermoplastic elastomers.
CTS said, “From a chemical standpoint, the oyster shell is very similar to chalk (calcium carbonates - CaCO3), which CTS uses as mineral contents in many grades of its Green Tefabloc-branded thermoplastic elastomers, and which gives these elastomers the same properties (cycle times, rheology, reprocessing etc) as if they were made from quarried chalk.â€
