Aditya Birla sees carbon black volumes up 32 percent in Q1

New Delhi, India -- The Aditya Birla group has reported strong growth in group revenues and profits in the three months to 30 June 2011.
Although Carbon black is a limited part of the business, the comapny said it saw a 32 per cent volume growth and higher power sales in the Carbon Black business. These contributed to an increase of 43 percent in Manufacturing Division revenues, to Rs 13 920 million (Euro 215 million). Manufacturing division EBITDA grew by 21 per cent to Rs.2080 million from Rs.1720 million.
For the group, revenue grew by 24 per cent from Rs. 38,570 million to Rs. 47,670 million.
