Somr named director of Mitas' Serbia plant
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Prague - Ivo Somr has been appointed director of the Mitas agricultural tyre factor in Ruma, Serbia, following the planned return of the facility director to date, Rudolf Macak, to the Czech Republic.
“Ruma plans to expand production of radial agricultural tyres,†Somr said in a 1 Sept announcement. Somr has been with Mitas since 2004, working in controlling and finance, and managing several investment projects. From 2008 to 2009, Somr has been involved in executing the acquisition of the Ruma facility.
Somr assumes his new responsibilities immediately. Prior to this assignment, Somr has acted as the director of finance controlling at the facility and also as the financial director of Mitas' UK subsidiary.
As of today, the Ruma plant changes its corporate name to “Mitas doo.†in line with the rest of Mitas' subsidiaries as announced in July. “Switching subsidiaries' names to Mitas will allow us to focus sales and marketing resources on promoting the core brand: Mitas,†said Andrew Mabin, Mitas marketing and sales director.
Mitas makes and sells tyres under three brand names: the company's own Mitas and Cultor and Continental under licence. The company operates three production plants in the Czech Republic and one in Serbia.
