Trelleborg launches biggest-ever tractor tyre
ERJ staff report (DS)
Hannover, Germany -- Trelleborg Wheel Systems said it will introduce the world's biggest ever super-single tractor tyre at this year's Agrotechnica show in Hannover in November.
With a height and overall diameter of 2,300 millimeters and a 46 inch rim, the TM1000 is the largest super single tyre ever produced. The giant tyre is engineered to meet the requirements of the new generation of tractor engines and transmissions.
Trelleborg said, "The tyre is currently undergoing a significant number of indoor and outdoor tests in order to meet ambitious performance targets under the most severe conditions, both in the field and on the road. During field operations the tyre gives a traction capacity five to eight percent higher compared to other premium brand competitors, with a five percent wider footprint at low inflation pressure enhanced by Trelleborg BlueTyre technology."
“TM Blue is not just about the tyre itself but also the Blue manufacturing process,†says Marco D'Angelo, Industrial Director of Agricultural and Forestry Tires . “Significant investment has been made into several projects to reduce energy consumption and to prevent the risk of environmental contamination and includes the use of environmentally-friendly extender oils throughout our production process.â€
