ERJ staff report (DS)
Nizhnekamsk, Tartarstan -- OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim said it has brought on stream a third drying and finishing line at its halobutyl rubber plant.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim began production of halobutyl rubber in 2004, making it the third producer of halobutyl (bromo-butyl) rubber in the world after ExxonMobil Chemical and Lanxess AG.
The first finishing line came on stream in 2004; the second in 2006 and now the company has put the third line into production. Nizhnekamskneftekhim said the new line has twice the capacity of each of the two previous units. The company said it exports 93 percent of its halobutyl production.
