Hankook aims for 25 percent OE production in Hungary plant

Neu-Isenburg, Germany / Racalmas, Hungary -- Hankook said it is aiming to increase the OE tyre production rate at its tyre factory in Hungary from the current 10 percent to 20-25 per cent of the total production during the upcoming years.
The KIA Sportage, the car maker's most popular family SUV will from now on come factory equipped with Hankook's high-performance tyre Optimo K415.
This is the latest OE contract awarded to Hankook Tire's European factory in Hungary. Besides serving KIA, the Hungarian production site already supplies OE products to the European operations of Volkswagen since 2009 as well as Hyundai since 2008.
