Car makers choose Michelin for display models at IAA
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Frankfurt, Germany - Michelin will be showcasing its high-performance tyres for a variety of vehicles and uses at the 64th Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA).
On display at the show, held 13-15 Sept 2011, will be an all new hyper-sports sedan fitted with Michelin high-performance tyres, a hybrid vehicle equipped exclusively with Michelin high energy-efficiency tyres and a large prototype capable of carrying nine passengers fitted with Michelin concept tyre, the French tyre maker said in a 13 Sept news release.
Each of the three vehicles - the new BMW M5, the Opel Ampera and the Citroën D11 concept car - “reinterprets the concept of road travel,†Michelin said, but all rely on Michelin's technology “to deliver effective road contact solutions.â€
Michelin said it is pursuing a strategic vision that focuses on designing and producing tyres that require no sacrifices on the user's part and meet a variety of different needs. The French company said performance improvements in one area do not have a detrimental impact on another.
“The Right Tyre Changes Everything†is the central theme of the Michelin Group's first global advertising campaign, which has been appearing on television, in print and across the Web in North America since late 2009 and in Asia and Europe (including Russia) since 2010. Worldwide deployment is continuing in 2011.
