Marangoni launches Ringtread BUS100 tread pattern
ERJ staff report (TB)
Rovereto, Italy -- Marangoni S.p.A.´s Retreading Systems unit has launched its Ringtread BUS100 tread pattern, an all-season, all-position product designed for retreading city bus and intercity coach tyres.
The pattern features a 5-percent wider footprint for improved mileage and solid, sturdy shoulders for resistance to sidewall damage, the company said. Interlocking sipes on reinforced and stabilised tread blocks help to increase traction and provide the tread with high resistance to tearing and irregular wear.
Marangoni said the BUS100 pattern is created using a completely automated process and is made with compounds capable of withstanding continuous stops and starts, a necessity for city driving.
Additional advantages of the tyre include improved rebound at low temperatures, reduced rolling resistance and the ability to operate at a lower working temperature in conditions that cause overheating.
