VMI celebrates China site expansion with tyre seminar

Yantai, China - Prior to the 6 Sept opening ceremony for the fourth extension of the VMI Yantai China facilities, VMI Group held a seminar for the tyre industry, the company said in a 19 Sept news release.
The seminar was one of two hosted by the Dutch company, which makes tyres and cans at its Yantai plant.
VMI said global representatives of the tyre and can industries, predominantly from Asia, attended the seminars and the opening ceremony.
In the tyre seminar, speakers from VMI and other organisations gave presentations about products and services, and their views on the future of the industry.
VMI of Epe, the Netherlands, said the opening ceremony was attended by Chinese and Dutch officials, management of VMI Group and management of VMI's holding company, TKH.
VMI started business in China in the early 1980s. VMI Yantai Ltd, a wholly owned entiry of VMI Holland BV was set up in 1996 to meet the needs of the growing Asian market, VMI said.
The fourth extension of the company's Yantai plant was completed in August 2011. The 7200 sq.m construction hall brings the total size of the factory complex to 26 600 sq.m.
